So, Las Vegas has become one of those destinations where I feel like I visit at least once a year. Think I may need to take up some residency, and find me a great house. Maybe one day when I hit the big jackpot, house can’t win all the time right?!!!
This trip was special it was the first time my mom had been, and I decided to take her for her birthday. She was very surprised about the trip, and I had some great things planned. I brought along my aunts, cousin, and friends for the trip. While there we took a day trip to Cali , check out our post (Here). Since we were going to be there for a week and wanted accommodations to allow us to cook, we decided to stay at the Tahiti Village and Spa. They had a great pool, which we relaxed in daily before hitting the strip. Great accommodations, and friendly staff.
One of the first things we do was go to the strip. The hotel was located about a mile off of the strip and we commuted by Shuttle with Drop off locations at the Tropicana Hotel, and the Mirage/New York New. Though we did not use the shuttle for other travel than the strip, we were also informed that they transport to local grocery, shopping centers, and to Freemont Street. Some transportation locations are set based on season.
From prior travel I have learned that traveling to Vegas in August is a scorcher!! This time we went in October temperature were still warm enough to swim but cool enough to not feel like you are roasting in an oven. First stop Freemont Street to zipline. We went to Slotzilla which costs us about $20 a person, they even accept Groupon deals. We had a ton of fun.
To beat the heat we of course decided to shop, what other way to keep cool in Vegas. We shopped at the Fashion Show Las Vegas, Forum Shops at Caesars, and Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood. Then we dabbled in the favorite Past-time in Vegas… Gambling
Of course, I could not leave out some of the unexpected sights.
